EPSON is promoting the World Championships in Athletics in Berlin in 2009
The Japanese electronics giant, EPSON, has been supporting international athletics as a partner of the world athletics association, IAAF, for years. When the German capital hosts the 12th IAAF World Championships in Athletics berlin 2009™ in two years, the company will be just as visible as it has been during this year’s world championships in its hometown of Osaka: EPSON will be installing special touch-screen panels throughout the stadium for constant up-to-date access to the results. EPSON is already actively promoting the largest sporting event of the year 2009 during the IFA consumer electronics trade show, which is taking place from August 31 to September 5, 2007 at the Messe Berlin fairgrounds.
In cooperation with the BOC 2009, the organising committee for berlin 2009™, the EPSON stand was decorated in the World Championship colours. Interested trade fair visitors can find information there on the third most important sporting event in the world (following only the Olympic Games and the Football World Cup). During the closing ceremonies in Osaka on September 2, the IAAF World Championship flag will be presented to the next host of the championships, Berlin, and will be received by the mayor of the German capital, Klaus Wowereit. A three-minute promotional video clip, which presents Berlin to the athletics’ world, will premiere on Sunday evening in the Nagai Stadium in Osaka and then be shown on the screens at the EPSON booth.
