Dual leadership of the BOC 2009 in the future
The BOC 2009, the organisational committee of the 12th IAAF World Championships in Athletics berlin 2009™, will operate under dual leadership in the future: Heinrich Clausen, the previous General Secretary, and Frank Hensel, the General Secretary of the German Athletics Association (DLV), were appointed by the board of the BOC 2009 to replace the previous managing director, Heiner Henze, who will resign on September 30.
Clausen will continue as the one responsible for the organisation of the event. In addition, Michael Mronz, who is known for his work as marketing manager for the World Equestrian Games in Aachen in 2006, was also assigned special tasks in promotion and ticketing.
This was announced by Dr. Clemens Prokop, DLV President, together with the mayor of Berlin, Klaus Wowereit, president of the local organising committee, during a reception for the BOC during this year’s World Championships in Osaka, Japan. “With their combined experiences, the two of them stand for the continuity of the excellent work done thus far by the BOC”, Prokop said.
